If you are an Adhost client using our Merchant shopping cart, you've come to the right place for Merchant help. Important information and tips concerning initial Merchant setup steps are noted below. For more information, see the menu to the right.

- Credit Cards: To authorize credit cards online, you will need a Merchant Account and an Account with a "Gateway". See Payment Processing for more information or contact your Adhost Account Representative.
- Image Sizes: If you will be showing images of your products, you should have those in .jpg, or .gif format. Suggested sizes: Picture = 275 by 275 pixels, thumbnail (the smaller image) = 120 by 120 pixels. More on images at:
- Uploading Images: You will need a File Transfer Program (FTP) to actually send your images to the website. If you do not have one, you may download an evaluation copy from our website. Go to Adhost's FTP page for links to downloads and instructions. You should have received your FTP user name and password in the Merchant set up mail. If not, please contact support@adhost.com
Note that you will have access only to the images directory and that this is all you will see once you make an FTP connection. Within this directory are separate folders for "categories" - for your category images - and "products" - for your product images. There is also a folder labelled "clientimages". This is where the navigation button images are stored. The other folders are for images that the Adhost Merchant needs and should be left alone.

- Entering product information: You have two options for entry of your product data - one at a time through the Merchant Manager admin area or in bulk utilizing spreadsheets provided.
If you have a limited number of products, it may be easier to enter them through the admin. Go to your Merchant Manager admin area (your Merchant URL plus "/admin") and select Catalog from the merchant Manager dropdown select box. Remember, you must enter your Categories first before entering Products. For help, click the field names or consult the online instructions link above. Note that many of the procedures and fields for entering products and categories are almost identical - you just have more fields for defining your products.
To use the spreadsheets, sign in to the same admin URL, select configuration from the Manager dropdown select box and hit go. Choose "Download Spreadsheets" from the page top options. Follow the instructions to download the spreadsheets and then fill in the data according to the instructions at Field Lists. Once you have the sheets prepared - or even a subset of information to test with - go back to the admin URL above but choose "Upload Spreadsheets" and follow the instructions. - Configuration: To see the available options for changing the appearance of your Merchant, go to Admin > Configuration and select from the options displayed there. Display changes requiring extensive additions of custom graphics to the templates - to match the look of an existing site, for example - are beyond the range of the configuration tool and must be integrated by Adhost Development. 3 hours of integration time are included with your Adhost Merchant License and Setup Fee.
