Merchant Support - Field Lists
There are three spreadsheets are provided for initial upload of Categories, Products and Sizes into your Adhost Merchant© web store. Two optional sheets - "Attribute 2" and "Product Relationships" -are available as well. The sheets must be uploaded in the order listed here.
Not all fields in the Category, Product and Sizes tables of the Adhost Merchant Database are included in the upload sheets as some table fields are for processes rather than attributes.
Once these sheets are prepared, you will upload them through your Merchant Admin area. You will also be able to download a current spreadsheet from the store. This allows you to populate your upload sheets with any changes you may have made to individual Categories, Products or Sizes through your Merchant Manager web admin.
Note on Products, Sizes, SKU's and Codes:
The Adhost Merchant assumes that your unique product code will be entered in the "code" field of the Products table. This can be an SKU, name or any other value that you use. However, it must be unique. If a product has sizes, the value from the Product table "code" field must be entered in the "product code" field of the sizes table. If your product itself does not have an SKU or code because only size or color iterations have SKU's or codes, you must create a code for the product table so that the size association can be made.
Note on Image Names and File Transfer:
You will be given FTP access to the product images directory to upload your Category and Product Images. The names you enter in the upload sheets or Admin must match the actual file names
When entering image file names in the upload sheets use the complete file name with extension. Do not leave any spaces in the name. Good: toaster_large.jpg, toasterlarge.jpg Bad: large toaster.jpg

Category Spreadsheet
- Category name (required)
Enter the name of the category. - Code (required)
This field must be unique. The system will use this code as a foreign key in products table. - Parent Category Code (required)
- This field is used to construct subcategories.
- If the category is a top-level category (no-parent), then enter -1.
- If the category is a subcategory of another category (a child), then enter the code of that category.
- Description (optional)
Enter the full description of the category. - Short Description (optional)
Enter a brief description of the category. - Picture (optional)
Enter the image file name. - Thumbnail (optional)
Enter the image file name. - Active (required)
Enter 1 for active and 0 for inactive. - Sort Order (required)
Enter numeric value on this field. - Keywords (optional)
Enter comma separated list of keywords. Used for meta tags.
Product Spreadsheet
- Product Name (required)
Enter the name of the product. - Product code (required)
This field must be unique. The system will use this code as a foreign key in the sizes table. - Category code (required)
Enter the category code where this product belongs. (no multiple category codes) NOTE: To assign one product to multiple categories, you have to create another row with the same fields values but with different category_code. - Description (optional)
Enter the full description of the product. - Short Description (optional)
Enter a brief description of the product. - Price (required)
Enter the display price that will be charged note: no $ sign. - Sale_Price (optional)
Enter a sale price if desired (It will not display or be used unless selected in product admin) note: no $ sign. - Cost (optional)
Enter your cost (optional - only for reference) note: no $ sign - Unit (optional)
This field will be used for storing the unit (For example: each, dozen). - Stock (optional)
Enter available product inventory. - Active (required)
Enter 1 for active and 0 for inactive. - Sized (required)
Enter 1 if the product has sizes and enter 0 for no sizes. - Picture (Product Detail Page image - optional)
Enter the image file name - Thumbnail (Thumbnail image - optional)
Enter the image file name. (mypicture.gif or mypicture.jpg) - Large_Pic (Large/Detail image - optional)
Enter the image file name. - Model Number (optional)
Enter model number for this product. - Inventory Control (optional)
- Enter the low inventory warn level as a number (10, 20, etc).
- Used to send warn mail to admin if inventory control is used and stock falls below warn level.
- Keywords (optional)
Enter comma separated list of keywords. Used for meta tags. - Attribute 1 Display Name (optional)
Enter the label that you want to appear next to the "Sizes" dropdown select box on Product Detail page/s. If this is not filled in, it will default to "Size". This can be set per product through this sheet or the Merchant Manager. - Attribute 2 Display Name (optional)
Enter the label that you want to appear next to the "Attribute 2" dropdown select box on Product Detail page/s. If this is not filled in, it will default to "Size". This can be set per product through this sheet or the Merchant Manager. NOTE: by default, the attribute 2 select dropdown does not display. You must activate it in next field or in the Product Add/Edit of the Merchant Manager. - Attribute 2 Active (optional)
Enter "yes" to activate display of the attribute 2 dropdown select per product. To subsequently de-activate, enter "no" or change on the Product Add/Edit page/s of the Merchant Manager. - Weight (optional)
Enter the weight of the product (required only if using the UPS shipping option). - UPS Oversize (optional)
Enter the UPS oversize class of this product: "1" if Oversize 1 and "2" if Oversize 2 (required only if using the UPS shipping option AND product classifies as UPS oversize)
Sizes Spreadsheet
- Product Size Name (required)
Enter the name of the product size (Large, Large Red, XL, etc.). - SKU (required)
Enter an SKU or other unique identifier. - Product code (required)
- Enter the product code for which this is a size.
- This field is used to construct product and sizes relationship.
- Stock (optional)
Enter available inventory as a number.(e.g. 500, 1000). - Active (required
Enter 1 for active and 0 for inactive. - Sort Order (required)
Enter numeric value in this field. - Price (optional)* Enter cost of this product (note: no $ sign).
- Sale_Price (optional)*

Price Note:
By default, if "Sized" is yes in the product table, the Adhost Merchant assumes that price will be carried by the sizes. If you do not wish to display sizes per price, leave these fields in the sizes table blank. You MUST ALSO upload the product sheet prior to the sizes sheet for this information to be processed correctly.
- Product code (required)
- Enter the product code for which this is an attribute.
This field is used to construct the product and attribute relationship. - Value (required)
- Enter the name of this attribute (Example: "120 volt", "220 volt").
- Sort Order (required)
- Enter numeric value in this field.
- Used to control the order in which attributes display in the dropdown select. Defaults to alpha if not filled-in.
