Support - Secure Folders
Please follow these directions to set up secure directories through FrontPage.
- Visit, http://www.yourdomain.com/_vti_bin/_vti_adm/fpadmdll.dll?page=webadmin.htm and, login with the username and password Adhost setup for you.
- If you want to setup security for your whole website, skip to step 4.
- Create a subweb with the name of the directory you want to secure. If the directory is a nested directory, such as “/folder1/folder2”, a subweb of “/folder1” needs to be created. You will then enter folder1’s admin and create another subweb. Note: The folders can either be in place or not before this process.
- Once at the folder level or root FrontPage admin screen, click “Manage Users”.
- click “Add a user”.
- If the user has not been created before, leave the check on add a user and fills in username and password fields. If the user has been created, just enter in the username. In the lower section, the user role needs to be added. If the person is using the standard roles, select “browser” only.
- When all users are entered, click “Administration”.
- click on “Change anonymous access settings”.
- Change access to “off” and click “Submit”.
