Support - Checking Mail too often

Indicates that your email settings for sending/receiving email are set to check for new messages every minute.

  • This setting places too great of strain on our mail server and will slow our mail server down.
  • Too short of time between checks can also cause duplicate emails to appear in  your INBOX beause your email client tries to check again before the first check is complete.
  • If you receive a notification from us that you are checking email to often, please check your email settings such at that you check for new message no less than every 5 minutes.
  • If you disregard theses notices, we will disable the account.

To change these settings in Outlook, follow these instructions:

  1. Go to "Tools" and select "Options"
  2. Click the tab that says "Mail Setup", then click the button that says "Send/Receive"
  3. On the lower half of the screen you should see "Settings for group "All Accounts"". Under that, where it says "Schedule an automatic send/receive every" change the number of minutes to no less than 5.
