Support - Add-On Domains

Add-On domains are new sites separate from ones already configured on your account. To add a new domain to your account click on the Add-On Domains button which will take you to the Add-On domain maintenance page. From there add the new domain and a user name and password for ftp access. This will create a new zone file for the domain and create a new folder within “public_html” where the folder name corresponds to the new domain added. For example if you added the domain newdomain.com cPanel® would create a new folder name “newdomain” within the public_html folder. This newly created folder will be the home directory for that domain.

Add Domain Redirection:

Domain redirection allows you to configure a domain in cPanel® but redirect it to somewhere else like another domain or path. Under redirecting url’s select a domain from the drop down menu and click on “Setup Redirection”. On the new page type in the text box where you would like to domain to be redirected to when it is typed in a browser. For example when you go to the domain newdomain.com it will normally be directed to the index.htm(l) file as that is the default but by using redirection you can have the browser go to test.htm(l). Once you have added the redirection URL click “Save” to apply the changes.

Remove Domain Redirection:

To remove URL redirections select a domain from the drop down menu and click “Remove Redirection” to remove the URL redirection settings.

Remove Add-On Domain:

To remove an add-on domain you have configured in cPanel® select it from the drop down menu under remove add-on domain and click “Delete Domain” to remove the domain from cPanel®.
