Support - Inter-Facilities Cross-Connects

Adhost can provide customers with interconnections between one data center to another, or between different racks in a single facility. The following carriers are available in the Fisher Plaza Meet Me Room: Time Warner, NTT/Verio, Seattle Internet Exchange (The6), Internap, Verizon, Qwest, Cogent, XO, Above Net, At&T, ELI, Global Crossing, MCI, and Level 3.

There are additional monthly fees for interconnects. Please discuss this with your Account Manager at Adhost.

Once we get an approved Colocation Agreement, the Adhost Facilities Team will set up the interconnect. Interconnects may be run using either Cat5e cable or Fiber Optic cables, depending on customer requirements.

We create a connection from one location to the other using the appropriate physical media. Whenever possible, terminations will be made to patch panels located within the customer's dedicated space, although these terminations may be extensions from other, common areas such as the Fisher Plaza Meet Me Room.

The most common connection types are as follows:

1. Direct - Adhost creates a direct connection between two customer locations that does not have any intermediate locations outside of the customer's direct control. As an example, a Cat5 cable run directly from one customer rack to another.
2. Inter-facility Connection - Adhost creates a connection that is carried across our Ethernet backbone. This connection will involve multiple physical drops and multiple connections into the switch infrastructure depending upon customer requirements.
3. 3rd Party Interconnect - Adhost extends a connection from a 3rd Party Provider in the Fisher Plaza Meet Me Room to the customer's dedicated space.

There are numerous different designs that have to be accommodated with this offering, so the Operations Team is involved in the design of the offering on a per-customer basis. In addition, the Operations Department will provide a written approval of all designs before they are implemented by the Facilities Team in order to ensure the integrity of Adhost's critical infrastructure.
