Microsoft Certified Gold Partner
We are pleased to announce that Adhost has achieved Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Status this month. We joined Microsoft's partner program three years ago as a Microsoft Certified Partner and have been working hard the past few months to get the necessary points to reach the Gold level. Each partner must demonstrate a competency in at least one area, and we attained two competencies in Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (Hosting Solutions Specialization) and Networking Infrastructure Solutions. Earlier this week we moved components of our routing infrastructure to our newest data center, Adhost West. This move will provide the maximum amount of redundancy for our customers by having key routing devices in both of our data centers (Adhost East and Adhost West). The equipment in Adhost West will be on a completely separate power and cooling infrastructure than our devices located in Adhost East. This is an important step in our objective of making all core systems "cross data center" redundant.
In other data center news, we have also executed a lease on a third data center location in Fisher Plaza. We expect to complete construction of this data center in mid-2008, and a new service we are considering offering is caged space for colocated clients. SST Compliance and Online Retailers
A common misconception in running an online business is that sales taxes are not due on Internet transactions. This has actually never been the case. Sales and use taxes have always been due, but states have not been enforcing tax collection by online retailers. Things have changed, however, in the past 2 years. State taxing authorities have begun enforcing the rules, and states have also banded together to create the Streamlined Sales Tax Agreement, or SST. Learn more.
