Recently, a few Adhost clients have received "spoofed" emails which appear to come from admin@adhost.com. The email states that you have updated your password. These are not official Adhost emails, but rather emails from a malicious sender who wants receivers to open the email attachment and infect their computers. The Adhost virus filters have been catching these emails if they are bound for one of our local pop/imap accounts, but if the mail is aliased to go offsite, it could get through. If you're an Adhost colocation client, this is a friendly reminder that any personnel from your company must be listed under your account in our billing system in order for us to allow them access to your equipment in our data centers. When they visit Adhost for the first time, they must show picture ID such as a driver's license and we'll make a record for future visits. If you need to bring a vendor or send a vendor to work on your equipment, the authorized contact for your account will need to call ahead and notify the Adhost technical support staff.
We are pleased to announce that Adhost is a Red Hat Ready Hosting Partner. Through this partnership we are able to offer our colocation and dedicated server customers Red Hat Enterprise Linux, a standards-based secure and scalable operating system, on a subscription basis. This partnership also means that we will be better able to provide solutions that meet the demand for LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) servers.
Over the past few months Google has been adding new features to their Webmaster Tools:
- You can now set a geographic target which will help Google determine how your site appears in country-specific search results.
- In the top search queries feature, you can look up historical data, top query percentages and other enhancements.
- You can provide feedback on your Sitelinks, the extra links that appear below some search results in Google.
