December 2005
This month we're turning the spotlight on ourselves and highlighting our colocation and managed services. Recently, several of our shared hosting clients have approached us about colocating or leasing a dedicated server for their Web site. Why would they want to do this?
In addition to the above benefits of colocating a server in our mission-critical data center, you can save your IT department time and money by utilizing Adhost's Managed Services.
The Adhost Office will be closed on Friday, December 9, 2005 from 6pm to 9pm for an Adhost Holiday Celebration. If an emergency arises and you need to contact us, the phone system will walk you though how to page one of our technical staff.
The Adhost Business Office will also be closed on Monday, December 26th and Monday, January 2 for the Christmas and New Year holidays; however, our technical services office will be on our regular 24 hour schedule. You can reach technical support by phone at 206-404-9500 or 1-888-234-6781 or by email at support@adhost.com.
Domain Name Servers (DNS) Reminder
We are working on phasing out our old Domain Name Servers (DNS), NS1.ADHOST.COM and NS2.ADHOST.COM. Instead all domain names which are registered to be controlled by Adhost should now list NS.ADHOST.COM and NS0.ADHOST.COM as the "Domain Servers" for the domain name.
Due to the holidays, we will not be turning off the old domain name servers this month. We expect this to occur on or about January 3, 2005. After that time, Adhost DNS servers will no longer authoritatively resolve your domain unless it is set to use NS.ADHOST.COM and NS0.ADHOST.COM, so it is very important that you make this change, if it is needed for your domain(s).
To check the DNS for your domain name, go to http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/. Enter your domain name. At the bottom of the "whois record" you will see the DNS servers listed under "Domain servers in listed order."
Should you have any questions about these changes, please send an email to support@adhost.com.
