We are pleased to announce a new feature to the Adhost control panel. When you log into your personal control panel you will find an area displaying Adhost's system status as well as information on any scheduled maintenance within our network or with our shared servers. If you have any questions or concerns please contact support@adhost.com.
We have scheduled a series of maintenance windows for the following dates/times:
Friday, Feb 13, 11pm-12am
Saturday, Feb 14, 11pm-12am
Friday, Feb 20, 11pm-12am
The purpose of these maintenance intervals will be to implement a set of network re-configurations/upgrades. During these times, your site will experience at least one interval of downtime lasting from 30 to 60 seconds.
For each maintenance interval, we will perform the updates on a particular group of IP addresses as follows:

To determine when your site/server will be affected, simply locate the interval within which your site's/server's IP address falls. Your site will be briefly unavailable at some point during the corresponding time interval. If you don't know what IP address, or addresses you have, give us a call at 206-404-9500, or send mail to support@adhost.com.
PLEASE NOTE: Our shared Microsoft SQL Server database servers, along with our Name and Mail servers, are scheduled to be updated Feb 13-14. To the extent that your site's performance is dependent upon the uptime of these machines, that performance will be briefly affected by these updates.

Here at Adhost the security of your account is a top priority. Therefore, we have put in place some new security procedures that require authentication using your control panel login information (domain, username and password). We will also now require certain requests to be made via email or fax for documentation purposes.
Oftentimes, someone will call in with a request to change account information or to do something with a server and we have no record of this person as associated with this account in our billing system. In order to expedite your requests, please be certain that you have your key technical personnel listed with us as having permission to make requests and/or changes to your account or servers.

Worms, viruses and spam, oh my! You may have heard recent news stories about worms wreaking havoc with emails and servers. Not to worry, Adhost's email filters are still running strong to protect your Adhost POP email accounts. In fact, last month we intercepted over 200,000 virus-laden emails with our filter. Remember, you have control over the filter and can adjust the settings anytime by logging into your control panel at http://client.adhost.com. If you need a refresher on what the various settings mean, simply click on "Mail Filter Help" in your control panel or contact the Adhost Support department.
[Please note that Adhost does not guarantee its virus or spam filtering and we strongly encourage all of our friends to run updated anti-virus software as well as utilizing extreme care with email attachments. Nonetheless, we consider these results indicative of an excellent first-line defense and worth sharing.]
