June 2003
Summer's just about here and if you have children, you know this is the time of year when sun, fun and unsupervised time can combine to create multiple medical problems. Pediatric Associates, a six-clinic, greater Eastside pediatric group, provides Summer Safety Tips and other pediatric medical information on their new Web site - designed and powered by Adhost. If you're looking for advice, information or a doctor, go to: http://mypediatricassociates.com If it's your website that hurts, give Adhost a call. As you probably know by now, here at Adhost we will be relocating our offices and data center from First Mutual Center in Bellevue to Fisher Plaza in downtown Seattle. The moving process will begin around July 1st and will be completed gradually over a three-month time frame. We are truly excited about the upcoming move to Fisher Plaza and the many benefits you will enjoy including global communication links, advanced technology, integrated media, enhanced seismic structure, and redundant building safety systems. What does all this mean for you? It means that your Web site will be safely protected in a state-of-the-art facility with unlimited bandwidth potential, and carefully monitored, as always, by Adhost's Webmasters. Adhost's Webmaster team has prepared a preliminary schedule for moving the servers belonging to our co-location clients. These servers will be transported to the new data center during off-peak hours. You will be receiving a notice from Adhost regarding a proposed moving day for your server, and we will make every attempt to accommodate your specific needs. If you have a scheduling conflict or special requirements in moving your server, please contact our Webmasters by sending an email to sysadmin@adhost.com as soon as possible. As we mentioned last month, Adhost now offers filter options for each clients' POP email account to cut down on the amount of Spam and viruses. Many of you have told us how much you enjoy this new service, and we are glad to know that it is working well for our clients and saving you time in dealing with nuisance emails. Remember that you have complete control over this new mail filter and can customize the way in which Spam and virus-infected email is handled via your Adhost control panel. Default settings will be available for common choices like "Normal", "Permissive", "Aggressive", etc. If none of the defaults seem right, you can individually adjust each setting. Initially, we will mark all Spam (but send it anyway), and block all viruses (a notice will be sent to both the sender and recipient of a virus blocked). If a virus is blocked, a copy is kept for 30 days, just in case the original is needed. Please note that the Spam/virus filtering is only done for POP email accounts on our mail server. If email aliasing produces an ultimate destination that is not on our mail server, no filtering will be done for that recipient. If you need more information or help in customizing your filter you can click on the "Mail Filter Help" link in your control panel at https://client.adhost.com. Should you have additional questions please email support@adhost.com or call us at 425-454-9520.
