ADHOST SPOTLIGHT

Tired of looking at your web site? How about a new look for the new year at a low cost that won't put a big dent in your Q1 budget? If that sounds good, take a look at the freshen-up we did for Quick Accounting Solutions - a developer of MS applications to enhance the functionality of QuickBooksÒ software and provider of bookkeeping services. Adhost's Design resources provided a new site design and transferred all content to the new format for under $1,500.00:

NEWS ON THE WEB

If you're looking for news on the Web you might want to investigate the following sources. WorldNews.com offers news stories grouped into more than 500 categories sorted by subject or geographical region. On the site each story is shown with a headline, the opening paragraph, and usually an accompanying photograph. An interesting feature is the "special reports" area that focuses on news from hot spots around the world. In addition to local news coverage from those areas, the site includes links to other online sources of information for more in-depth research capabilities.

The World News Network site features an impressive list of links to topic or region specific sites, including verticals focusing on business and industry, sports, entertainment, science, and other area of interest.

A less comprehensive news source is Google's beta version of its service called Google News, which provides information culled from 4,000 news sources worldwide. Google News is unique in that its news is compiled by computer algorithms alone, completely without any human intervention. While this leads to a somewhat impartial selection in terms of ideology or political stance, it can lead to some unusual and contradictory news story groupings:
